Date Fished: 6/18/2008 Topwater bite was slower than usual this AM between 05:00 and 06:45 with only 1 small fish on a LC Sammy and a small short strike on the buzz bait. Both came on rocks around mid lake. Ran up lake and fished the 11'+ depth and caught 2 three pound fish one right after the other on a green pumpkin 3/8oz jig with a Berkely Chigger Craw Watermelon 4" trailer in tight cover. Boated over 7 pounds in 2 hours and had to get off the water by 10:00 to get a little work done. The jig bite is definitely on, the crank bait bite is off for me, spinner bait bite is over with the shad spawn, the top water bite was slow but will be good all Summer, the TX rigged and wacky rigged worm bite is on. Fish a little deeper and a little slower right now; the water is clear and today's cold front might have just slowed them down a shade even though it did not change the surface temperature. Go get em!
