Date Fished: 6/23/2008 The lake was about 3 feet above pool and dropping slowly. Water temps between 76 and 80. A white spinner bait was visible about 1-2 feet in most place but the backs and creek arms were dirtier. The fish had completed spawning and fry were visible. The buck brush and willows had 1-3 ft of water on them and there were also patches of smartweed and arrowhead. 20 Jun 08 Prefishing Cloudy rainy weather greeted us. E breeze at 8. My son and I started fishing at about 9:00 am. I went to the main point area of the lake and flipped a jig (jacksonville color, WM seed trailer). I caught a 3 on my 4th flip from a small willow clump. Ended up with a limit by 2:00 including a 4 ish fish. Lost a very large fish too. All on the jig flipping into the vegetation. Senko did not work well but my son did catch 2 on it. Several shorts were also caught. But it was Friday on a corps lake which means Sat and Sun was a whole new ballgame. But for sure we dialed in the jig color. 21 June 08 It was sort of foggy at take off. Light SW wind to flat conditions. Just after takeoff it closed in. It did not lift until about 9:30. Luckily we were on our spot and didn’t have to run. The same area as practice threw the same jig. 16 Shorts 2 keepers. My son had 6 shorts 1 keeper. Winning guy had 3 fish total 5 lbs my 2 got me 3rd place. 22 Jun 08 Sunny day this time turning cloudy around noon. Same water conditions, west breeze about 8 becoming a little stronger with the clouds. I caught 3 small keepers early on the main point. Went without a bite for 4 hours. Went to Sanduski and got 2 more small keepers off the rock point in the back 6 feet of water -one on the jig one working a white chatter bait like a jig. Won the tournament with a measley 7-13. I know the good fish were around because I caught some of them Friday. But during both t-ment days I couldn't connect with the good bites.
