Water Clarity: 1 foot Fished the BFL on Neely Henry Saturday as a co-angler and had a fisherman's dream of a day. I started the day fishing a Choo Choo Limiter jig 3/16 oz and a black Gamble Jiggy Snake finesse worm. We were fishing deep banks that had a mixture of clay and rock. Quickly I missed three or four fish and I decided to switch to a junebug worm (same thing as above) and an unbelievable day began. Couple of cast later I caught a keeper LM a few minutes later a 4 lb+ LM, by 9:00 I was culling. By 10:00 I had caught another LM over 4 lbs and a couple of nice spots. The bite slowed for a couple of hours, but around 12:30 it picked up again. My boater was also culling, but just wasn't getting the quality bites that I was. At 1:30 I felt pressure and for a second thought I was hung but then felt my lure move slightly, set the hook and another 4lb + LM was in the boat. I never made another cast. We were due in a 2:30 and I just decided to sit and reflect on the day. I had a great boater; we both agree that I had a blessed day. I never had a single fish get off all day. My boater lost one 3 lb+ spot due to a hoof breaking.
We got to the weigh in a little early and I still could believe my day. I weighed in 3 LM and two spots that weighed 19.00 even. I had one dead fish so 18 lbs. 8 oz was my official weight. I'm still shaking. I have fished the BFL's for about nine years both as a boater and co-angler and it was finally my day. I'm still shaking!
