Subject: Hardyston WMA - Silver Lake, New Jersey

Water Clarity: 2-3 feet Fished this lake, on foot, for the 1st time yesterday afternoon for an hour or so. Didn't catch squat, not even a hit, after an arsenal of plastics. I found it especially engaging not only to walk upon several large whitetail, but the 250# black bear that walked to within 35' of me while I was at waters edge had me a little uneasy. Had no where to go but in the water if he continued, gave him 10 min then I walked thru the trail and out of the woods as fast as I could! First encounter w/a bear, and won't go there again alone...tight lines!
