Water Clarity: 2-3 feet

I got out yesterday and today. I'd say probably the two busiest days of the year... it was a little nuts out there. But, I heard the yelling, screaming and laughing of a lot of happy kids being pulled on tubes, swimming, etc out there. People were out having a great time with their kids, and that made the traffic tolerable for me. The the pops and bangs of fireworks, coupled with smell of barbeque and gunpowder all around the lake was awesome. Even the gnats laid low this weekend.

The fishing was not stupendous. Our best bite on Friday was definitly on a Pop-R. The will hit the top-water all day, and we caught some 3 to 3+ pounders on it during the day. Most were in very shallow water around docks and shallow points.

Today was a tournament fish hunting trip. It was really pretty tough. We found one area that had some good fish, and caught one over 4 and one over 5 before leaving. It was a long stretch then between bites, and then we had one more over 5 on a jig in another area. We only had 4 keepers, but again we left the one strong area we had going. Everything else was really scattered.

There are still some willow flys hatching, and small fish and bream are schooling everywhere.

God bless our service men and women. We are free!

Good luck, great fishing and all Gods blessings.
