Date Fished: 7/13/2008

Water Temperature: 83
Water Clarity: Not reported

The lake level is just below 15 feet below full pool and has not dropped much since last week. It has risen and fallen a few inches all week but it just about where it was last weekend. The water color has been awful all week as last weekends traffic really stirred up the exposed points and humps. Most of the week we had a poor clarity on the lower end and not much better up around browns bridge.

The water temps has held around 82-83 deg all week for the most part. We have had a few showers here in the Big Creek area but nothing substantial. It rained a few days in the afternoon but never over an hour. We are still very dry.

The fishing was OK this week. I will not call it good and I will not call it bad. The artificial bite really dropped off due to the poor water conditions. When the water is that stirred up, the topwater bite usually falls off and it did this week. I have a few days where the fish head spin was excellent and the rest of the week, we mostly dropshotted and worked the football jig around main lake structure. I have been getting a few on top throughout the day but nothing like I was a few weeks ago.. As the water color clears, we should get some of out topwater bite back.

Of course, the live bait bite has been very good as I have finally started doing a few bait trips for the spotted bass. This is typically a good technique for late July and August fishing.

I have some August days available after August 11th if anyone is interested. Drop me a line and lets do a morning trip in August.

I still have my 2008 Trtion for sale if anyone is interested. I have pictures I can email you or will be happy to talk with you about it. Just drop me a line..

Thanks and good luck to everyone.

Ryan
