Water Clarity: 1 foot Just had the most difficult day I've ever had on the lake. Launched at South Bay with a partner who also had a day off from work. Lake levels are the highest they have ever been for the month of August. Partner had no NY license so we headed for the river portion of the lake. Clarity was about one foot or less at the railroad bridge, but increased the further north you went. Water was about 65 degrees when we started and near 68 when we finished, for the river portion of the lake. We did find 73 degree water near Benson but I failed to put my partner on any fish up in that area. Four bass fish were all that we found willing to bite and two of those would not measure. Several pike fish chased our baits down just fine, but for some reason we just couldn't entice our favorite green friends. Flipped creaturebaits accounted for three fish with the fourth fish falling for a seductive piece of plastic on a drop-shot along with a couple crappie. A fitting report to end my posting career!
