OK, so against my better judgement we went out on Labor Day to fish with my brother in law and 9 year old nephew. Since it looked crappy weather wise we figured we'd have better luck. Ends up we did.

We had great conditions (steady 10MPH wind, clouds, cool air temps) early from 06:00 - 10:00 and then the sun burned off the clouds and the white boats came out around 10:30 and it turned into a zoo.

Well the fishing was terrific early on. We boated several fish on topwater early and into the morning. We fished rocky wind blown points that were on the main channel below Hwy 150 and North of Governors Island. Every fish we caught was boated on topwater baits. I threw worms and jigs around and had a few gentle taps but nothing took them so we just keep chucking and winding the topwater baits.

First fish was a dink on a Pop-R Second fish was a 3.0 Spot and came on a white buzz bait (strike king triple wing) Third fish was a 2.5 LM and came on the white buzz bait (strike king triple wing) Fourth fish was a 2.0 LM and came on the white buzz bait (booyah) Fifth fish was a 3.0 and came on the white buzz bait (booyah) Sixth fish was a 1.5 LM and came on the white buzz bait (booyah)

Seventh fish was a 4.25 LM and came at 2:30 in the heat of the day under blue skies with boats everyehwere in 3 feet of water along a dock. My brother in law got it on a Brians Bees Prop Bee #3 Shad Pattern with a #2 Gammy feather treble. That fish came after that bait hard and fast in nearly no water back in the back of Stumpy Creek where we were looking to get out of the boat traffic washing machine. When he boated it, it had that prop bee sideways in its mouth.

The photo attached is of the big fish. They're starting to do their thing as Fall is in the air! fishing will only get better from here on out. We made it through another Summer!!! What a way to end it!
