Sorry no report for so long, trying to make a dollar, been a litle tougher this year than most!

Finally got to get out on Lay for a while and man its different from the last trip. Water was stained and 9 degrees cooler. I spent a lot of time around mid river on the flats and in the pockets and you could pretty much catch fish at will. Caught them on the flats on a chatterbait, trap and CB. Caught them around the grass on a chatterbait and a blade. Probably 12-15 bites in an hour and a half but it was all schooling type fish, nothing over 1.75.

Finally decided to run all the way up river. Spent about 3 hours from just below the dam to a few miles beolw junk fishing anything in the water I could see. Did not get near the number of bites but I guess the temp drop and the stain has the bigger spots moved up a month earlier than normal. Had 9 bites, 4 were dinks and the rest were over 3 lbs each. Tried to slow down and fish the better looking areas more thouroughly but the current was ripping so hard it was too quick to be able to get anything to hang on the bottom.

Key seemed to be wherever you could find timber or anything for a break around any kind of turn or bend. All the better fish came off of a Citrus Deep Little N.
