Date Fished: 9/8/2008 I had a great trip today with a customer pre-fishing for an upcoming tournament. Seems like we have quite a few events coming this fall and winter. We mainly threw top-water all day long, and the warmer and sunnier it was the stronger the bite became. It finally got very sunny, hot and slick and the top-water bite was wide open. We found several groups of fish, a couple of them with good tournament fish and one group was every throw with 3+ pound fish everywhere for about 100 yards. It was crazy, the kind of crazy I like. (Not the kind I’m used to…). We let two of our biggest fish escape being boated, but still wound up boating 17+ pounds and plenty of keepers. It was a fun day. I’ve been on private lakes that were not as good as Guntersville is right now on top-water. I’m having a blast. ½ day top-water trips still available at $150.00 for up to two people.
