I had a full day trip on the G today. The wiends came up pretty early, and it added to the challenge of getting on some good fish. We found a few good fish, but they were scattered. We did find a couple groups of schooling bass, but for the most part they were running small today. It was still a lot of fun. We did what we could to work around the other tournament anglers competing today and we tried to mainly stay out of the way.

But there are days that the fishng takes a back seat to other thoughts, and my thoughts today were with the family and friends of Wayne Elrod. Wayne and I had fished together, and we had spent time together on the old tournament trails. Wayne passed away a couple of days ago from an apparent heart attack. He was a great friend. He was younger than me, and he left a beautiful family. Wayne loved many things, but especially life and fishing. He was definitly a character, and when he was around me he was certainly one of the brightest moments of my day. May Gods love and endless comfort surround his family and friends as Wayne trades in a short journey here for his eternal journey in Heaven. Many will miss him here.
