There is good bass action to be had on a variety of baits. Grass frogs have become a standard for us when fished over and along the edges of grass. We work these with short twitches or a slow steady retrieve and once the bait gets to the edge of the grass we let it soak for a few seconds. Many of the strikes will take place at the edge of the grass while the bait is sitting still. There is a strong spinnerbait bite along the edge of the grass and near isolated clumps of grass just in front of a well defined grass line. It's best to position the boat parallel to the edge of the grass and slow roll a spinnerbait a few feet under the surface. White baits are working well for us. Small, shallow running or deep running crankbaits { depending on the height of the tide} retrieved along grass and near drop offs, attract hard hitting bass. Plastic worms, stick worms, tubes and finesse worms all catch bass in these same areas. The lowest part of the tide is still preferred but we are having fair action on the higher end of the tide with the grass fogs.
