Water Clarity: 1 foot Water temperatures early in the week were as high as 83 degrees, but with the cold mornings and cloudless night skies of the past few days, the temperatures have dropped to the low 70s at dawn then as high as the mid 70s during the day. High pressure is firmly in place, and the bass are active inspite of the pressure. Low light conditions or periods with cloud cover have allowed us to fish buzzbaits and chuggers/poppers around grass and creek channels with great success. Large bladed buzzbaits in white with gold blades are an excellent choice and shad colored poppers produce well, especially with clear water around hydrilla beds. Spinnerbaits, small crankbaits and chatterbaits work well when bass refuse to strike topwater baits, and we have caught bass on soft stickbaits, crawfish imitations, and finesse worms when bass prefer slower moving baits.
