I have tried my heart out to make them be in the bushes and the woods but they're just not there yet. I'm not a cranker or dragger with patience and I came up here to use nothing less than 25ld. line and stay in the jungle. I guess we're forgetting that just a few weeks ago it was 37 degrees at night for several nights in a row. I stayed in the big bad jungle today and only caught four(that counted) but they would have weighed close to 12 pounds probably, flipping the tube of course. I caught several 10 to 12 inchers tossing a fluke(grn pkn and albino as well) around but those aren't why I came here. There has to be a big wave of pre-spawn females waiting to move up everywhere. The good ones I did catch were what I would call lake fish...meaning they were clean, fat and pale white/green...to me that means they just moved up within 12 hours or so. The small ones were all dark and yellow/gold like they had been up a while. I also saw some some small gangs of bull gills sunning in the middle of the very backs of several small fingers off of the larger pockets so they're thinking about coming too for you gill lovers. Most of them were hand sized to boot. Maybe I'll start me a cricket box this week...lol.

After three days on the water I can tell you this, when the werewolf moon hits in a couple of weeks I would sure like to be here then. I'm sure that it will be spectacular for all species.

Fished all new areas today from mid Nutbush toward the lake and also all around in the creek behind Satterwhite...Big Mill I think it's called. Saw some shad in a few pockets back there that look like they're thinking about spawning. I'd like to be here for that too.

Best of luck and God Bless,

Todd Ary
