  Subject: Shearon Harris, North Carolina

Submitted by Flameseeker #16846

Date Fished: 5/7/2010

Water Clarity: Not reported

Date: 5/7 - 5/8/10 Time: 6:00pm - 9:00am Number of Fish Caught: 5 bass and Approx. 110 - 120 Crappie Number of Fish Kept: 44 Crappie. Me and the "Old Pro" David finally managed to get together and fish Shearon Harris. We started out fishing a cove that I have always had luck in and David was able to get the first bass in the boat using a chartruese Bagley Bang-o-lure. I tried several lures with no luck and I switched to old reliable Senko (black w/blue flake). I caught three before the light of day was gone. When darkness fell we started Crappie fishing in a spot I have always had good luck in. We fished for about an hour and only caught a few and then we decided to move up the lake and try another area. We stopped at an area that was getting some of the night time breeze blowing into it and managed to catch a few more then we moved to a cove I had caught bass in but had never Crappie fished before. We fished until we ran out of live minnows around 4:30am and so I tied on a Berkley 2" minnow grub (pearl white) and then we were only able to use one rod apiece for a while. It seemed like most every cast yielded a Crappie. When daylight came we went back to bass fishing and we started in that same cove and the Old Pro was able to reel in the show fish of the trip using a SwimSenko (black w/blue flake). We fished until 9am and decided to call it a successful trip and come on back up the road. The picture is of David and the show fish of the trip.
