Date Fished: 5/15/2010 Piedmont Bass Classics & Team Crappie Results May 15, 2010...Falls Lake~Ledge Rock Wildlife Ramp Team Bass Division Cannon and Craven put a stop to Langley and Fritt's domination at Falls! Another great day for fishing at Falls Lake! We had 25 teams for the team bass division that weighed in 45 bass for a total weight of 161 pounds! 4 bags over 20 pounds were weighed in! It seemed as though most fish were caught downstream from Ledge Rock and not in the upper part of the lake towards I-85 as they usually are. From what I gathered, the bass were caught mostly on points and laydowns using carolina rigs and crankbaits in 8 to 12 feet of water. Air temps ranged from 60 to 90 and water temps were around 80 degrees on average. The bass seem to be in a post-spawn area that anglers can't quite figure out. They should be deeper, but are not at this time, probably because of the longer winter period we had this year. The deep water bite should be getting better as the air temps get hotter. I think the best bite is yet to come! Check it out!
