Date Fished: 10/18/2010
Water Temperature: 62
Water Clarity: 2-3 feet

There is a good top water bite for bass along grass beds that still have a defined edge. Poppers, like a Rebel Pop-R will draw strikes as will a hard twitch bait. Chatter baits worked slowly around grasses also produce as will plastic worms. We have been using blue fleck colors with success. A good high tide pattern this time of the year is rip-rap banks. Try a slow rolled chatter bait along the rocks. Rock piles, jetties and rock points are a good fall producer. We like to us a Storm Wiggle Wart and then follow up with the Mannís Sting Ray grub. Pilings along the main river hold bass that like a crank bait also. A plastic worm fished along creek drops will take interested bass. There are some nice yellow perch on quick dropping points at the mouths of creeks while some white perch are available in the four to ten foot range in creek channels. Stripers are available up and down the river. There is a striper bite on main river points and bulkheads as well as bridge pilings. They will hit a top water bait in the morning and then a crank bait or swim bait as the sun rises. A Sting Ray grub will continue to catch them as they go deeper. Catfish are active just about everywhere and will hit bass baits.
