Date Fished: 6/21/2011 We experienced a good top water bite in the morning with buzz baits and poppers in front of spatterdock fields and defined edges of grass beds along creek channels on the low end of the tide.. When then work the ledges in front of the pads and grass with small, deep running crank baits, chatter baits and Berkley Chigger Craws. As the tide rises, we move to the main river and work marsh banks with a Mann’s Baby-1 Minus and chatter baits. We fish the wood along the banks with Chatter Baits and creature baits as well as a jig and craw combo. Isolated patches of wild celery can be good on the start of the incoming tide when fished with spinner baits or Chatter Baits. White or white/chartreuse has worked for us.
