Date Fished: 8/11/2011 Standard summer patterns continue. We are finding bass along grass edges as well as over submersed aquatic grasses on flats. Buzz frogs, buzz baits, rats, and poppers all work in the early morning hours and well into the day. Plastic worms worked around wood cover on shorelines produce fair numbers of bass as does a wacky rigged stick worm rigged without any weight. Chatter baits and Mann’s Baby-1 Minus catch bass around grass cover and shallow wood cover in the creeks. On the low end of the tide we switch to rocky ledges in main river areas or quick dropping ledges along creek channels where a jig worm or shaky head will turn up bass. For the larger bass, work a creature bait with heavy weights in the thick grasses on the flats in the front portion of the creeks or on main river flats..
