  Subject: Tidal Potomac River, Maryland

Submitted by Reel Bass Adventures

Date Fished: 10/4/2011
Water Temperature: 68
Water Clarity: 2-3 feet

Grass is still the primary pattern up and down the river. The top water bite is good with poppers producing good bass along grass edges and grass frogs working well over the matted grasses. Chatterbaits and spinner baits also do well as do Mannís Baby-1 Minus crank baits and shallow running bait fish imitators. Boat docks should not be over looked. Plastic creature baits or jig and craw combinations will draw strikes. Spatterdock pads can be productive, particularly on the outgoing tides. We do well with swim jigs or plastic swim baits in the pad fields.
