My brother Wyatt and I fished Oviachic, Senora, Mexico from 17 Feb to 27 Feb. It was 94 degrees when we got there. It was heavenly after leaving home with snow on the ground. We unpacked at 2PM on the 17th and went out to a close in bay for a couple of hours. We caught 26 bass with a couple over five pounds, mostly on lizards. After 10 days of fishing we managed to catch 584 bass on lizards(any color), lipless crankbaits (chrome), 1oz spinnerbaits, and Carolina rigs. We hit a cove way up the river (20 miles) and got a 9lb, a 5lb, a 6lb and a 10lb on back to back casts. Then got a seven a couple of casts later. It was a busy fifteen minutes. The wind got up real bad a couple of days forcing us to hide and hope. We found some nice fish in the lee of some bluff banks. The last couple of days the wind died down and we were able to fish the main lake. I knew where the old town was and found it in 7-12 ft with a single tree marking the dropoff into the river. I got broke off on it and Wyatt cast in there and stuck a real big fish. I thought it was a big catfish but when it tried to jump it told me it was a bass. It was the biggest bass I have ever seen on that lake (30+ years). It topped out the scale at 12.9lb. Wyatt later caught a six pounder off the same tree and it had my lizard still in it's throat. We got 102 bass that day. It was nice to fish in warm weather for a change. I do not sun burn easily but I did this year. I guess it is the chemo. We had a very good trip...TC
