Date Fished: 6/30/1999
Fished the dam area Wednesday from 3:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Started out looking for stripers in the deep cooler water (30+ ft.). Entire area was stacked with gizzard shad feeding on surface bugs. Caught some in the cast net and started trolling for stripers. Only marked a couple scattered on the ff, but could not coax a strike. About 5:00, small schools of bass started coming up and I gave up on the stripers and decided to have some fun. Caught 6 on a surface popper by chasing the schools all over the area. Not very agressive action and the schools were scattered, but still exciting. I expect the schools to consilidate soon and pick up the feeding action.
