  Subject: Lake Grapevine, Texas

Submitted by Bill Kucera (ip 209.197.193.153)

Date Fished: 8/18/1999
I fished with Joe Pratt of J.B.'s Guide Service on Lake Grapevine. We got started about 9:00 AM and fished until 1:00 PM. The best sand bass action had been occuring between 12:00 and 3:00 PM. However, today the action heated up about 9:30 and slowed considerably by 11:00 AM. We caught all of our fish on pearl and chartreuse Tailhummers. Most of the fish were in the 3/4 to 1 pound range with a few in the 1.5 to 2.0 pound class. The white bass remained on top for about one hour which hasn't been the case the last few days. One good sized largemouth, about 4 lbs., also caught on a Tailhummer. Most of the fish were caught near Rockledge Park. Joe can be reached at Silverlake Marina if you interested in getting into some great action.
