If you would like our report e-mailed directly to you as soon as it is updated, please visit our sign-up page. http://www.inslide.com/guide The fishing season is underway and we are catching fish in the shallower depths. Of course, we can only keep certain fish and must release others. More in-depth reports will be available at this page as the season progresses. For those of you new to our site, please visit our archived fishing reports and explore our entire site. Bookmark the main page to keep abreast of up-dates. If you are interested in booking a trip, I encourage you to do so as soon as possible, as dates are going fast. The boat launch ramp is finally up and now it is much easier to launch. Some decent fish were caught this weekend and as the weather stabilizes, we should expect some early spring lunkers! Biggest fish we returned this weekend was a 3 1/2 lb smallie on a crappie minnow suspended at 15' on a slip-float in Geneva Bay at the 22' depth break. Crappies are coming in near the lagoon by Fontana. Fan-casting techniques coupled with the suspending of crappie minnows approximately 3' below floats in the 10' depths works best. After 5 minutes without a bite, suspend the minnow at 6' below the surface. After another 5 minutes without a bite, suspend the minnow at 9' below the surface. If you still are without crappies, move out to the 15' depths and repeat the process. Continue on to the deeper depths in 5' increments until you find the fish. It pays to be methodical! This technique works well with all species. Don't be surprised to catch a mixed bag and please remember it is illegal to keep certain fish prior to the opening. More to come,.................. Tight lines, Dave
