  Subject: Simpson Mill Pond, Oregon

Fished the mill ponds for a few hours. This place used to be great fishing! They opened it to the public a couple years ago and it is gradually getting over-fished. We caught four pounders in the shade next to downed timber, but nothing big...We have caught a lot of big bass here. The biggest over 8 lbs, but due to a couple of chemical spills and over fishing I don't think there are as many big ones in here as there once were. These places are where I believe the next state record will come out of because of the many years of no fishing pressure and the amount of food they have. Well,I guess my point is... if you have any mill ponds in your area don't overlook them!
