Water Temperature: 68+
Water Clarity: 0

Water was really clear today. Fished for a few hours with sports writer Alan Clemons today. Pretty much have to echo much of TMikes report below. The river in the Ditto area is slam full of spots. We caught a few in the 13-15 inch class and a bunch of smaller fish. Saw no big fish today except for 1 nice smallmouth that came after a top-water bait. Best baits for us today were small, deep running crankbaits worked at warp speed. And, the S.O.B. 3/8oz TroyJ special caught the most and the biggest fish today. (Natural shad scale skirt). That crankbait might have kept up if I'd have had a doo-dad on it. hehe. Pretty much worked the spinnerbait slow off wood cover. All spots were caught beating wood cover on the banks. Steeper gravel banks on outside bends were best. We had less luck on mud banks. Dropping the spinnerbait on the steep bluffs caught a few. Sometimes there were several fish on one pile of wood or rock as Mike said below. Current was strong today and that always helps the bite on the banks in this area. The water level is near winter pool and probably will stay close to that until spring. The spots bite well all winter long and it is a great way to get some winter bass action. Caught a few white stripe as well but they were small. Lots of bait around the laydowns and spots are taking advantage of that. We found fish both up and down from Ditto and didn't have to go far to catch fish. Good luck.
