Brrrrr. Just got in from ice fishing a local pond up here in the land of frozen tundra. It was -23 this morning here and it is about -10 now. It took me an hour to get through the ice with my auger but after I made my hole and erected my shanty, I fished. I jigged a stingsilver very slowly up and down for about 15 minutes when the drag suddenly started singing. After a 15 minute fight, I reeled in a 38" Northern Pike. The cold was starting to get to me as I could not get the temperature above 15 degrees inside the shanty. The pike was released.
