Fished the Anglers Choice Tournament out of Callville Bay. Went to the Virgin River to a spot that had been holding quality fish, but those fish would not bite. Returned to Callville area and fished jig and pig deep, caught 3 fish that weighed 6.5 lbs in 1 hr, probably could have had 9 to 10 lbs if I had stayed in the lower basin. Winner of the tournament was fishing the Muddy River area, which had been closed to fishing for two months, I should have known this would be the best producing area for larger fish, since it had not been fished for quite some time, they had 16 lbs. The weather was perfect for January on Lake Mead. The jig bite is on fish deep (20'-40').
