Water Clarity: 4 feet or greater Well, I went to my favorite creek on sunday, first time out this year. weather was nice, 50 degrees, sunny. I tied on a white gitzit, 1/32 oz leadhead and went to work. didnt see many fish, but plenty of minnows. I hit a nice pool with some sun on it, and threw the gitzit down the side of a submerged rock bar, let it sink slowly, and a nice Ky bass (spot) took it, made a couple runs and i got him in. he was about 14 inches and fat. i was using an ultralight daiwa rod and daiwa jupiter spinning outfit with 4lb stren magna thin line. I hit another pool with a deep hole against a rock wall and let it sink down and caught a nice 2-21/2 lb smallie. I left shortly after as it was getting dark. I fished 2/12 hrs for two fish. they were sluggish and i only got action in pools that had sunlight hitting them. still early maybe.
