Water Clarity: 0 Thur. 3/22/01 Cloudy, Wind E 5-8, water level high, Water temp 52-60, muddy up in the creeks and clearer out in the river. Fished out of N Sauty and found good fish on 4-15 foot break lines on main river points with pig&jig (3/16 B&Bl) had 8 fish total with 4 keepers 3-7,3-6,2-4,2-1. Not to bad for 3 hours.
Fri. 3/23/01 Clear blue bird day, Wind calm to E-4, Water still up, surface water came up several degrees during the day 54-61, pulling good bit of current. Got out early and fished all day and only had 4 small dinks until 5PM. Tried everything in the tackle box, then on the last gasp tried something completly different. Went to a spot and started with a shallow crank bait (Chart.&Black)in the last hour of the day had 10 or 12 with half of them being keepers, nothing real big just 15-16 inch fish. Knew some people fishing the Donnie-Mac Tour. so gave them a heads up.
Sat. 3/24/01 Sunny to Ptly Cloudy with the front approaching, water still high, Wind N 5-15, Water temp 54-62. Did not get out until 1:30, did not want to fish the spot in case my buddies had gone to it. Guess they didn't, first pass through had around 15 most being small but a couple of good keepers. Second pass produced a nice kicker approx.6#s and couple more keepers, best 5 would have been around 16#s with 20 to 25 total fish.
