Water Clarity: 0 Arrived at John Martin on Thursday 04-28-30-2001 at about 6:00am First day lake was calm and very nice maybe 3 people on the lake. Temp was 75 to 85 degrees very HOT and dry.Lake looked low but the locals say it high for this time a year,the Damm is about 60 to 80 foot.If you like BUll Head Catfish the best spot on the lake is the first cove right of the North docks.NOW for the good stuff..The hot spot on John Martin for Croppie fishing is a small inlet on the other side of the Train Trusel thier are about 8 Croppie Beds in their and on live bait they are hitting like crazy,first day caught limit, 2nd day caught limit 3rd day faught high winds bad day for fishing all over lake,In The brush we caught Croppie all day long Large Mouth Bass,the best spot for night fishing is the back side of the Damm channel cat are hitting hard but are picky on bait,use liver , worms
Important Note that if your going to take your boat on the lake get a weather report and watch out for the wind, I had to figh 2 to 3 foot swels.If lake get to windy to fish the drive up to Blue Lake, This lake is a shhhh secrit lake,high croppie catches, large mouth bass are hitting hard , muskie and pike are killing live bait large shiners or chum.I love fishing John Martin for croppie and Large Mouth Bass lovers this is the lake for you!!!!
