Water Clarity: 2-3 feet Well guys (and Dolls)I'm tired of little fish, and even they are hard to come by. Fished this afternoon from 3:00 until about 7:00, and it was pitifull. I did hook one good fish (enough to make a run on the drag, which all my reels is set pretty loose because I don't worry about wearing out the drags) only to see it run into a submerged treetop and get wrapped around it and hang the gap on the hook over the line. It is one of the nicest I've had on all year, but we can't weigh them untill they are in the boat now, can we?
My Father in law made me feel a little bad this weekend, he called me from Hattisburg and had been fishing in Sportsman Lake, which he is a member, and had weighed in one at 5-13 and another at 4-3 on the same night off buzzbaits. He has Parkinsons Disease and has limited grip with his left hand and said he nearly lost his rod. I don't even remember when a bass has done me that way, but he only night fishes and catches 5-10LB fish regularly. His grandson, my nephew, caught one 11lb 14oz last month (28 inches and skinny)and then followed up the next afternoon after school with one just shy of 9lbs. he was fishing irrigation ditches on some farm up around Hattisburg. Both of his was on worms I gave him when I cleaned out the boat boxes. At least I have some good pictures of Bass caught off my lures!
We'll be fishing at Flint Creek next weekend, will be camping up there so maybe I'll have a report from there next week. I don't know if I'll fish Thursday fruit jar or not as I will be leaving Friday AM for Flint. Ya'll have a good week and as always
