Date Fished: 5/28/2001
Water Temperature: 80
Water Clarity: 4 feet or greater

Found a new plug. You may not believe this but here goes. Ordered some Senkos on the WWW. They are soft plastic "worms" about 1/2" thick and seven inches long. The things must way an ounce and a half. Well I used a four ought 'Owner' hook (sheesh those things are sharp) and rigged it exposed in the worm. No weight cause you don't need it. I had the best luck with white but the black worked too. This thing was deadly. I chunked it out there and twitched it back like walking the dog. Kept it pretty much on top of the water. The silly thing would dart around like it was alive. The bass loved it. Smacked it to death. Literally. That was the negative part of the whole thing. These things don't hold together very well and you've got about a two fish limit before you have to replace it. The little uns tended to short strike em and rip em in half. But it did catch fish. I landed about twenty bass in two hours. Several over three pounds, two or three four pounders and a couple of fives.

Ive always wanted to fish a BIG plastic worm with no weight and these things will definitely let you do that. Now if they would just make them a little tougher. The rig is really more of a plug than a soft plastic. You can throw it a mile but I was settling for fifty yards or so cause I didn't want to rip em off the hook.

I really want to recommend the Owner hooks too. I drove these things clear through the boney part of a couple of large fishes mouths with a not too aggressive hook set.
