Water Clarity: 2-3 feet I don't normally post over here on the Bass board, but I made my yearly trip to Fayette yesterday and figured I would share it with you. In the water a little before daylight, picked up several fish around the Pompus grass in front of the cabins with black skirted buzz baits. It was extremely windy and it rained on us several times. About 0800 the topwater quit so we moved over toward the dam. We drifted a hump in about 22' of water. We were picking up 2 or 3 fish per drift on 6" purple worms, carolina rigged. It was tough fighting the wind in the open water, but we kept trying to make drifts. It was extremely hard to feel the bites, due to the rough water, but we were still picking up fish. The carolina rigs we were using had 3 to 4' leaders, which is a lot longer than I have fished in the past, but it seemed to be the ticket. Ended the day around 1300, had a tee time at Colovista at 1430. We had several fish over the slot, but most were slot fish. I really enjoy this trip every year. It was a little slower this year than in the past, but it was still a great time.
