Water Clarity: 2-3 feet Fished all night near the dam using cut bait(brim cut in half) and shiners(no threadfins or gizzards to be found). Caught 1 hybrid about 3 lbs. on shiner and missed several quick hits. Also caught a 2 lb LM right at dawn on the top using a spook. No hits on the cut bait!?!? I figured we would atleast get a channel cat. Not the results I was hoping for but atleast not skunked like the other 2 boats we talked to that anchored and fished all night. Headed for Apalachicola for some Bull Shark fishing next week where I know we won't have to wait long for some action. We have the serious hardware now: 4 heavy duty rods with roller eyes and Penn Senator reels loaded with 200 lb line and 8ft steel leaders my dad made and tested with 300 lb of free weights (he used 3 crimps at each end). We also rigged a quick-release and buoy for the anchor so if we get a 8 + foot shark we can just pull the quick-release and let it pull us around till it's worn out. Also set up to chum, etc...
