I have a friend who convinced me to drive all the way to Kansas to go Bass fishing. Glad he did. We fished Cedar Bluffs on Saturday and was a little windy in the morning so maijn lake stuff was tough. Also very hot. Anyway we caught 22 bass total. Not bad for first day out on this lake. We caught them all in shallow water even though the water was in the 90's. Caught them on spinner baits and black and blue brush hogs. Biggest one caught was just under 5lbs. we caught 7 bass in a row off of a trio of laydowns in 2 feet of water. That was awesome. There were more because I lost 2 and my partner lost one. I have never seen such a thing that is holding that many fish in shallow water. Great day to fish.

Sunday we went to Norton. We caught 27 total. Started catching small 1-2lb Bass early on but fun none the less. We went to some island and I saw a tree line and fished the tree line and we caught a 4lb, 5lb and a 6.4lb Bass on this tree line. I had spider wire on and I broke 2 off at the hookset that were monsters. My partner said likely Saugeye because they have big teeth that cut line like that. He broke one off also. Anyway what a great lake and am so glad that he got me to go out there. Colorado has nothing like this to fish. I hope you realize what fisheries you have and that you practice catch and release. I would like to see less tourneys on these lakes as keeping bass in live wells for hours in 100 degree days and then to a weigh in is killing more bass than you realize. Just my thoughts on that.

Good luck to you and God bless.
