Date Fished: 9/4/2001
Water Temperature: 78
Water Clarity: 4 feet or greater

I did a short trip before work this am in the misty rain in the Allatoona arm area. I only fished 3 hrs (11am to 2pm). Had a great day for just 3 hrs with 16 fish including 2 keepers and lost 2 other good keepers arrrghh all on the bama rig. First honeyhole point I pulled up to I caught 5 spots with one being a keeper so that was a great way to start the morning off. Water level is definitely getting lower and lower and Allatoona is probably atleast 3ft lower than the normal summer pool even with the rain in the past few days still plenty clear. Fish seemed to be scattered a little with the majority of the fish on points and RIGHT ON THE BANK!! Best points were the ones near deeper water and if you had any kind of structure (regardless of the type) on it you got bit by swarming schools of spots :). I did run into a brief school of some good spots off one of the points. As I made my 50yd cast to the distant breaking school I backlashed at the end of it and before I could get the backlash out a nice 3lb spot was dancing on top of the water with my bama rig attached. So I lost her and two other just like it. Lots of fish hit before I could engage the reel. I might want to fish my topwater bama rig with the flippin switch on eh?? Took a pic of one of my keepers that I did manage to catch this am with the bama rig still attached :). Tight lines
