As the wind and cold howls outside my door my thoughts are in a different place, a warm place with a light breeze, waves gently rocking my boat and the fish hitting like there is no tomorrow. Such are the dreams of a fisherman during these times of cold, ice and snow. With the warm January we had I like everyone else was getting spring fever only to have it all blown away by old man winter's latest blast. However every day that passes brings us just that much closer to spring and to that day with a gentle WARM breeze. Lake Wilson has been producing a few nice stripers and walleye for the those who have been able to get on the water in between the fronts and wind. The grapevine has been a little hard to get exact information from but the Hell Creek area has been producing along with the Duvall cove area. Slabbing seems to be the preferred method with white and chartreuse as the most popular colors. I haven't been on-line much the last few months due to computer problems but intend to post reports at least once a week during the up coming year. For those of you that visit Wichita I will be a guest at Zeiners Bass Shop 737 S. Washington on Saturday March 2, 2002. Stop on by and say Hi. I love to talk fishing and meet new people. I'm sure Jim Zeiner will have a good selection of tackle on hand for the upcoming spring season and have a fishing story or two of his own. Kansas Striper Association has joined the internet http://www.kansasstriperassociation.com/ KSA is a group of local fishermen who get together for tournaments, fish frys and always a good time. They are a non-profit organization that was start by myself and a bunch of other striper guys and gals about 15 years ago. This is a family orientated club where men, women and children complete equally. Check out the site and for more info.contact Eddie rattrap@kansasstriperassociation.com On one final note due to my computer crashing I lost all my email addresses and lost all my friends who were on my email fishing reports list. Any one wishing to be placed on that list please let me know at jack@maddjackstriperguide.com Think Spring, Madd Jack www.maddjackstriperguide.com
