Water Clarity: 4 feet or greater Fished the charity tournament out of Lanier Harbor Sat. Didn't know we were going to be competing with some B.A.S.S. pros like Tom Mann Jr. The rain made for a miserable "run and gun" strategy. My partner had gone out the day before and located some LM that were pulling into the shallows, but they had not locked on bed. They were still there Sat, but the front had them lockjawed. We knew we couldn't rely on our usual jerkbait pattern on the main lake, but the front messed up our game plan and we switched into power fishing mode. We hit several muddy run offs in the back of creeks down south and picked up one 2.5LM on a rattle trap. Partner caught one 3lb LM in a clearer creek on a tube. We then had to pull out of the creeks and beat the points hard to pick up 4 nice spots. We wound up with our limit, culled two and threw back two shorts for a 12.29 limit. We just couldn't get those big spots we were catching a week earlier. Our big fish was only 3.4. When we left we were in either 6th or 7th place, just out of the moolah. We felt pretty good till one guy flopped a 18 lb sack up there with a 4.94 spot AND a 6lb LM!! Someone always catches the bigguns don't they? We'll get 'em one day. Great run tournament.
