Date Fished: 4/13/2002 Public Safety Bass Club in Milledgeville made the trip to Eufaula and fished a day and a half tournament out of Lakepoint in Cowikee Creek on April 13 and 14. There were really hard rain storms on Thursday and Friday night. Saturday was threatening but no rain. Sunday was clear skies after some early morning fog. The winner had 11 pounds 5 ounces for the day and a half. All were caught trolling motor distance from the launch. They started on the riprap at the ramp and worked from there to the grass beds on the other side of the bridge. An albino super fluke was used in a dead stick manner to catch the most fish on both days. 200 series blue/chart crank was used ti catch the final fish on Sunday. Big fish for Saturday was 3 pounds 8 ounces on a chartreause spinner bait and the same weight was big fish on Sunday using a white spinnerbait. These came out of the same area as the winner fished but by a different boat. All told there must have been twenty boats fishing this area. Some fish had spawned, others hadn't. This is a great lake to fish for somewhere different than our middle Georgia lakes. Lakepoint's facilities were very adequate. They did have trouble supplying towels but the folks there were very nice and helpful. It's not the Beau Rivage but it is clean and comfortable with good hookups to the batteries. Doug Watson
