Water Clarity: 1 foot 1st Annual 4th of July Marathon on Douglas. Mic and I left Johnson City at 6:00PM Friday 7/5, launched at Swanns at 7:45PM and fished up river until 1:30PM Sat. 7/6. Tough 18+ hours. Only got three keepers and boated a total of 12. Lost one big smallie at the boat at midnight. Heck, we could have gone to S. Holston if we didn't want to catch any fish! What's wrong with Douglas?!? We fished spinner baits and crank baits and worms and jigs and hula grubs all night with only 4 fish and then caught the other 8 on c-rigged lizards from about 9:30 AM to 1:30PM Sat. We couldn't even get a top water bite at sunup! Oh, we also caught two white bass and a gasper goo (drum) on crank baits but who cares. Survived on sardines and vienna sausages, ritz crakers and the beverages of our choice. Beaten and tired we got home safely about 3:00PM Sat. Jerk some jaw and rip some lip!
