Pretty good day overall. High winds pushed the current along downstream a bit faster then normal. Made for some difficult casting and just couldn't tell how much fish were lost to wind slack in the line. I can tell you how many we did catch. Me and Jeremy caught about 30 for the day. The weather started out looking awesome(fishing weather that is) around 10 am it was cloudy and hazy from the Canadian Wildfires but turned to bluebird skies around 12 pm. The strong bite seemed shutdown around 3pm. Caught about 75% on watermelon Zoom Grubs texas rigged with peg bullet weight. Couple here and there on a Tiny Torpedo, watermelon Zoom tubes and purple powerbait tubes. The biggest(15")on a watermelon Senko. I pretty much figure if your looking for the big boys concentrate on the deep section right after the Lady Liberty. That is where we usally pull out the biggest fish of the day. I would try using crawfish imatation because I caught 4 fish who spit out crawfish when I had them in the canoe. This section of the Susky is awesome just try not to stand up much because the water is so low and clear you will spook half the fish. Keep it low and reel it slow and you are sure to catch some of the strong scrappy susky smallies.
