The Smallmouth are more active this time of year than they are in Aug. past. Caught 4 keepers for a good meal.( around 1 to 1 1/2 lbs). Returned smaller ones and bigger ones. I was useing a worm and drifting it in the slow current of the river about 10 to 20 ft off from shore. Also for you trout fishermen the Clearwater, a tributary to the Snake, is produceing great trout. P.S. I have a good recipe for bass.
