  Subject: Sheppards Lake, New Jersey

Submitted by TonyM (ip 138.89.145.253)

Date Fished: 9/2/2002
Water Clarity: 4 feet or greater

First day back from vacation, just had to get the boat out.

Fished 11:30am to about 2:30pm. Cloudy day, light drizzle and only 65 degrees.

Nothing shallow so I started working a jig and a t-rig arounds weeds - still nothing. Then I switched to a t-rigged Tube and got my first bite, unfortunately it was a pickeral that broke off at the boat- hook rig and all. I re-loaded and fished the same Tube set up and finally watched a LM (about 15 or 16 inches) take my bait. Whoops, he broke off as well - must have had some frayed line or something because I haven't tied a bad knot in ages.

Looking forward to some fall fishing in this area.
