Water Clarity: 4 feet or greater Well, I got skunked for the first time at my little pond tonight.
The fish were real spooky. They were in the thick weeds right on the surface & would spook when the bait hit the water anywhere near them. If they did show any interest in my rig they would only fallow it, or if they did try to bite they either would just to bump it or they would missed it completely. I did get one big fish on, but it broke off(forgot to retie after the last time I went fishing) Anyone have a CLUE why fish that would nail anything that moved a week ago have gotten so bait shy? The only thing that has changed much is it has gotten colder at night. So water temp is down a bit, but it's still in the upper 60's to low 70's during the day. I tried to slow down my presentation but it didn't seam to help. I also tried a few other baits but only the soft plastics with no weight will get through the soup. To weedy for any thing else. Spinerbaits are a waste of time all ya get is weeds. Tried a jig to same thing. Tried a top water bait next to the weeds in somewhat open water but no takers. So anyone got any expert opinions. :)
