Water Clarity: 0 Fished around the Mt. Carmel/Hester Bottoms area yesterday. Started out fishing timber/brush with the old faithful jig and pig. First bite of the day resulted in a 5.5# largemouth. What a way to start the day!! Picked up a 3.5# LM about ten minutes later in the same area. Moved to another cove and missed one, so I flipped right back out and boated a 7.9# hawg (my biggest so far this year, I thought).
Caught 2 more around 4-5# each with the pig. Heard something behind me, so I turned around and saw something I had never seen before. Stripers and LM schooling together on a flat. Quickly tied on Zara Spook and caught 7 (3 stripers, 4 LM). The stripers ranged from 2-6#. Three of the LM were around 3-4#, and the last fish a caught was a huge 8.75# bucket-head. Definitely my biggest of the year!!! Looks like my wife will have to move a few Christmas decorations to make room for a couple of nice mounts. Does anyone know of any tourney's on the lake? Thanks!
