Water Clarity: 2-3 feet Well, I don't know what everybody else was using, but we killed them. I fished the lake with 3 other people, but 2 of them left at noon. Myself and another friend stayed until the lake closed. Incredible topwater action in the early morning and late afternoon on everything from Zara Spooks to Zoom Flukes to Hula Poppers. From 10am to 1pm the bite was unbelievable we had almost a constant double and triple hook up with everything from 8 inch plastic worms to jigs to reapers to salty-crawlers. The overall day was outrageous, at times it seemed like you could take the gum out of your mouth and put it on your hook and stroke them, it was that good. Given the smallness of the lake, we could obviously see what everybody else was cathing and it definately looked like we were catching more than the people around us. I don't know what they were using. We averaged about 2 to 3 pounds, with about 10 fish around 5 pounds, the largest was about 5.5 lbs and a total of 200 for our boat, give or take a few. Barret lake is like bass fishing heaven -- great for practicing the lures you wouldn't normally use. If you don't catch at least 40 fish, go back and keep practicing.
