Water Clarity: 2-3 feet A friend and I dropped in at the Leaning Tree Boat Ramp on the west side of the lake at 6:15 a.m. and started throwing topwater spinners and poppers which produced fish but no keepers. As the sun began to climb higher above us we decided to fish deeper water and still continued to have success. My buddy kept using a Culprit plastic worm and landed many fish where I was trying different baits and lures to see if the bigger ones would bite. After a few hours of not getting many bites on the larger baits I went back to "old faithful" and managed to get a few more into the boat before calling it a day. It was mostly sunny and there was a south wind blowing at 10 MPH. There were quite a few boats out that morning. One guy we talked to said he had caught two bass that exceeded the 18" mark by 10 a.m. and had released them. He had mentioned that he was pre-fishing for a tournament so hopefully he did well.
