Water Clarity: 4 feet or greater Honeoye Lake has a good population of legal sized largemouth bass (>=12 inches). According to NY State DEC Angler Survey Data, the catch rate for Honeoye is 1.56 legal bass/hour, compared to the state average of 0.26 legal bass/hour. Honeoye is a great place to plastic worm fish. If someone is just learning that art, Honeoye largemouth will provide enough bites to help speed up the learning process. Worming is such a great technique on Honeoye, please be sure and release lots of fish to ensure the bass fishery.
This morning went a little below the lake average. Caught an 18+ inch Walleye on the first cast. It took four hours to boat 5 legal sized bass. The first one came on a Shad Rap RS, the remainder on 4 inch Power Worms of various types in black/chartreuse and hot cinnamon.
