Date Fished: 8/14/2003 Got out on Wheeler for several hours yesterday, mostly scouting. I fished about an hour. The small fish were biting good, and I caught one 3-lb fish on a spinnerbait. I saw some more nets in shallow water, some in Fox and two more on the flats. The game warden called today and said they are going to look at those I reported on Finely island. I feel better knowing they will check out the reports. Lots of nets out there, and I can't believe they are all legal nets. I fished Guntersville with a friend today for 2 hours this afternoon. We boated two over 4-lbs, one almost 4-lbs, a couple of solid 3-lb fish and a couple of shorts in that time. All were in hydrilla from 5 to 7 feet deep off the main channel. Jig. Good luck, check your license and your saftey equipment as the wardens are out there checking. Handle the fish with care and put them back quickly.
